Good Times!

Thank you to the Neugebauers for a fantastic holiday! Floating among the islands in Greece with dear friends was quite an adventure, one we will never forget. Thanks for having us!

A few of my favorite moments:

Toby after water skiing: "What is not to understand about GO STRAIGHT?"

Birdcage

Greg after Birdcage: "Oh, she had a great voice!" and again "She had a great voice!" and again . . .

stories of a near death experience by donkey trample

Todd to Sarah: "Honor your husband and just READ THE MAP!"

the seemingly difficult task of keeping 4 couples together, be it a small beach in Ios or at a restaurant in Santorini to watch the sunset

naked kayakers, they aren't really naked are they?

Fostis and his amazing technicolor scarves

the best looking ladies in Greece are right here . . . in this restaurant!

On School Projects

We're back home after an amazing holiday and back to the reality of nappy changes, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and school projects. Living the high life was good while it lasted, but it feels oh, so good to be back home!

G has been studying the events of World War II this term and has had a project looming over his head for several weeks now. The directions were ambiguous leaving ample room for the children to stretch their creative minds, the only instructions being to create a project relating to the children in London who were evacuated during the Blitz.

That's it. No other details. No nice checklist of what to include. No indication of how it will be graded. I can hardly type this because I have the shakes over the obscurity of this assignment!

After spending the weekend hard at work, this is what G created. Pretty impressive if I say so myself! He is proud of his effort and his end result. I am proud that I was able to avoid being committed over this little project!

Thanks Joe for intercepting our moment of panic! And to Kevin and Clark, the music is for you. Nobody will appreciate it more!

I'm Going To Pay For This One

What are the chances that your toddler would get the chicken pox the very day you are scheduled to leave on a once in a lifetime holiday?

Apparently pretty good.

It's a confirmed case. The doctor said they should be mild and according to our babysitter, he is in top form feeling great despite red bumps covering three quarters of his little body.

So I will do what any good mother would do and I will keep calm and carry on with our holiday.
Although I know I will be paying for this dearly in all my years to come when B will remind me repeatedly of leaving him at home when he was ill with the chicken pox.

Because that is exactly something his father would do!

Bon voyage, I'll be back online next week!

We're Leaving on a Jet Plane

Don't know when we'll be back again!

We're on our way to Greece to meet our friends the Neugebauers to spend the week sailing around the islands and discovering all that this part of the world has to offer. Can't wait to get this trip started as we have had to delay it once due to uncertain weather in the Aegean.

The only issue now seems to be these strange little red bumps that have suddenly appeared on B's neck. Hmmmm . . .

Sir S's Birthday Party

S celebrated his 3rd birthday with dear family and friends while we were in Dallas. We held a party complete with games and feasting at one of our favorite little parks. I think our little prince enjoyed the party held in his honor!

After the party, it was back home to discover his treasures:
Thanks, Anissa for these little gems, they are still there with no sign of coming off or fading anytime soon. I'm already looking at gifts for your kids that you will enjoy as much as we have enjoyed these!
Poor littlle B didn't get in on the tatoo action but instead decided to have a spin around the house ... until he found himself in a pickle:
S's big day drew to an end with official measurments taken and documented by Papa:
And for the finale, B serenaded his big brother with his version of Happy Birthday to You!

Happy Sweet 16!

Where have these last 16 years gone precious one? We hope your birthday was extra special and filled with all that you wished for! We are so happy that we were in town for your birthday party and that we could celebrate your very special day with you. We love you very, very much and are so proud of the beautiful young lady that are!

Let's Go Rangers

We took the boys to a game while we were in town and here are some of my favorite moments:
