So Long, Farewell

We spent our final day in Vienna at Schonbrunn. This palace and it's breathtaking gardens are second only to Versailles in terms of royal grandeur:




This is the Gloriette, which was built to celebrate the power of the Habsburg family:

We climbed to the top where the views of Vienna just beyond the palace were stunning to say the least:

Inside the formal gardens, we stumbled upon a play area that the children found most exciting:



Our next stop was Tiergarten, built in 1752 as a menagerie by Franz Stephan and is the oldest zoo in the world:



Once all of the wild animals were tamed (most of those belonged to the Nelson family I should add) we saw our holiday draw to an end, and what a week it was!
