Today we celebrated B's birthday with a little party in his honor at St Lukes. This darling playground is just a few blocks from our home and has been a favorite spot of his as we have spent just about every afternoon right here. While the big boys were in school this year, it became our routine to drop S off at Miss Daisy's and then pick up lunch at the corner grocer before settling on a blanket in the shadow of this amazing cathedral:

I'm not sure how much B will remember of these quiet afternoons that we spent together in this very special place, but you can be sure they will never be erased from my memory!
So you see, this was a fitting place to hold his birthday party and he loved every minute of it, as did his brothers:

Happy early birthday to my precious little vagabond! You have seen more in your two short years than some people see in a lifetime and you take it all in stride. You are such a trooper and seem to bloom wherever you are planted! It is with pure joy that we watch you and your big brothers and the relationship that the three of you share is so very special. You are coming up with new words and phrases each day, you can finish any song that your daddy or your brothers start, you love to sing the blessing before our meals, you are well cared for by your brothers and they are more than protective of you and each other, you are quite sporty and might be the first lefty in our family, you could be considered the most spirited Chelsea supporter in our family, you are fiercely independent and potty trained yourself this week, your toughest moments are those that leave you behind and not included in whatever your big brothers have planned, you have the strength of an ox which reminds us very much of tickle PaPa, as do several of your looks and mannerisms, oh how I wish the two of you could have met . . .
There is not a day that goes by that we are not amazed by your self-determination, your lack of fear, your sense of humor, and your strength. You seem to have completed our family the very moment you were born almost 2 years ago!
