To say I have never laughed quite so hard over our turkey preparations would be the understatement of the year. Watching these boys (especially the biggest) prep, wash, butter, flavor, massage, rub and pat our turkey (affectionately named Oscar Jr) was hysterical. Most of the kitchen commentary is unfit to be published on this blog. Very sorry about that, will force you to use your imagination.
This next part was particularly funny. Again recall that our home was full of 7 boys all of whom enjoy bathroom humor ...
After this was pulled from Oscar Jr, Joe announced with much pomp and circumstance, "It's a BOY!"
I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry, oh wait, I was actually laughing so hard I was crying!
Now for the washing of the bird
No words for this photo, again, use your imagination
And now for the finale! Our turkey was as beautiful as it was delicious. And I do have to say that this might just have been the very best turkey I have ever tasted (sorry Mom and sorry Luby's)
What a fabulous Thanksgiving we shared with our dear friends, truly a memorable week! I absolutely loved having our home filled to the brim with laughter and shouting and video production cues and even bathroom humor. I loved the 3 littlest boys pitter-pattering down the stairs every morning and hearing their angelic little voices while I lay in bed just listening. I loved hearing the boys run along our creaky wood floors and up and down the stairs over and over again. I love that the special friendship once shared between our oldest 3 has continued as more children have been added to our families, the dynamic between all the boys now is remarkable and so much fun to observe! I love that the boys were happy to sleep just about anywhere and that we bunked them in every nook and cranny we found. I love that our dining room table was full of healthy, happy children and friends that mean so much to us!
