The Butlers Visit Beantown

(Thank you Parker for the historical background regarding the origin of the Beantown name!)

Cheers to our dear friends, thanks for coming to visit and share the Thanksgiving holiday with us!

We began the week with a duck boat tour of the city

Sloan was a most informative guide and expert driver!

Next stop was Pizzeria Regina for a most delicious lunch, Brooks holds the record for number of slices consumed and that's the story that I am sticking to!

Couldn't leave the North End without a cannoli

Along the Freedom Trail at Paul Revere's home

The kids especially enjoyed Nathaniel's Hall and marketplace, Nate's area was ideal for letting the kids run off a bit of energy

Onto a sports bar before the boys took in the Celtics game, like father like son...

Too bad Greg and Joe were only able to find 9 tickets together for the game, Julie and I took one for the team (no pun intended) and found ourselves at a lovely restaurant for the evening

Meanwhile, the boys were here:

Getting back to the historical sights, we spent one morning exploring the Minuteman National Park

It proved to be the perfect spot for both big and little boys full of energy

Is it surprising that we found ourselves yet again at a local pub to help the Butlers cheer on Arkansas

One last adult night out was the perfect ending to our week, although we were a bit doubtful when Greg suggested we begin the evening at the Paint Your Own Pottery Bar!  Luckily we found a great little spot to share dinner and drinks with the dearest of friends.

What started as a friendship between Joe and Greg over 30 years ago has evolved and grown over the years to include the lovely relationship that Julie and I share as well as the fantastic friendships shared between and among our 7 boys combined.  Although we have been separated by many miles for several years now, there is something quite comforting picking right back up as if not a day has passed, this for both the children and adults alike!  Quite apropos to reflect on our many blessings this Thanksgiving season with the Butlers here, this family is at the top of our list!

The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart.
