Nothing Says Fall

Like the State Fair of Texas! After weeks of anticipation (maybe even years for Gil) I took the boys to the fair on the first day it opened and we had so much fun!

The littles quickly took to the midway games where we spent a small fortune, the cost being justified by the size and quality of these stuffed animals. Right.

I would argue that it was priceless as the delight in their faces was worth every penny, I mean $5 play.

It was obvious that this was my first solo fair excursion (poor Greg had to work, probably to start paying off the loan I took out for the midway game cards) because we hit the midway early and thus had to lug around the loot for the rest of the day.

Notice the size of our loot.

My mistake, won't do that again.

Barely enough room for us to fit on the ferris wheel, no lie!

Fun houses were a big hit with the boys too. Notice Gil is not in these photos. He was with us for all of 5 minutes until he spotted a group of his friends.  The next thing I saw was dust. I have never seen him move that fast!

We made time for a few more games before we called it a day.  More games and some fried dough. And then one more fried dough. And then one more to tide us over until next year.

A perfect day at the fair if I do say so myself!
