The Fun Never Ends

I'm going to have to do quite a bit of back-tracking because our adventure has been full of twists and turns for the 2 short months that we have been here. I'll fill you in on where we are today, and then try to recount how we got here.

We moved out of a lovely home in Westminster on Friday. It was a very nice home, but upon our arrival, we found it had quite a bit of "damp" damage that we were not aware of when we took on the property. After lengthy negotiations (wink, wink) between the overseas landlord and the attorney that was brought in on our behalf, we were finally released from our contract. Those of you that know my husband and his gift of persuasion can read between the lines here!

So, to give you a mental image of our move on Friday to a corporate apartment for the third time . . . just picture our family of 5 looking very weary and much worse for wear, dressed in the same clothes that we have been wearing since we first arrived in January, pushing our double stroller through the narrow London streets to our new hotel home, with 2 little boys still dressed in their pajamas and one riding alongside on his scooter, and the stroller spilling over with our personal belongings. Every two of three steps, we would hit a bump on the street and drop some diapers or some bottles or some clothes . . . can you just see us? It was hysterical, and we have never laughed so hard! It will be an image that I never forget!

Speaking of bumps along the way, this verse has been in my heart often lately and has kept me going on more than one occasion:

"The steps of the Godly are directed by the Lord. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will not fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand." Psalm 37:23

So, that is where we are today. We are in a tiny 2 bedroom apartment in the heart of London with our bustling family of 5. I've said it so many times, and I just have to say it again . . . our children continue to amaze me with their adaptability. They have had no sense of stability since our arrival here, and poor little B has not had any sense of order since he came into this world. They just keep going though, wherever we drag them. They are troopers to say the least!

Lessons learned so far:

#1 Landlords in the UK have the upper hand

#2 London is a city that does not see many families of 5

#3 You can squeeze a large family into much smaller places than you might think

#4 Laughing often times will keep you from crying
