Gil's AAU baseball team was invited to play in a tournament over the Memorial Day weekend in Bristol, Connecticut. The first game was held at Muzzy Field. Legend has it that Babe Ruth hit the first home run here when he played for a traveling team in the late 1930s. Boy was the team excited to follow those big footsteps!
I had to add this photo for posterity, a reminder of our summer baseball days in New England, sporting our heaviest winter coats and gear and blankets and still freezing our little tushies off! May this picture help me remember to never complain about the Texas heat!
