How We Spent Our Summer Hoilday

We spent most of the month of July in Maui and can I just tell you, it was fabulous! The littles and I flew over a couple of weeks ahead of Greg and Gil and then together we enjoyed every single moment of our time on the island. Words cannot express our gratitude to Robert and Linda for opening their home for us, thank you very, very much!

These two little cuties provided much beachside entertainment. We spent many of our days simply playing in the sand and frolicking in the water, a perfect holiday if I do say so myself!

Boogieboarding was great fun for the boys, especially in the afternoons as the trade winds would pick up.

Our little piece of paradise!

We ventured to the Maui Ocean Center and loved our visit there.

Here is Beck at the look and touch area.

Both boys especially enjoyed our behind the scenes tour as they had the opportunity to feed the sea turtles and the hammerhead sharks.

This tank was a highlight for the boys, they were amazed by the views!

Sloan worked so hard to arrange he and Beck so that the sharks could photobomb!

I turned another year older while we were there, here are my most handsome birthday dinner dates!

We had great fun exploring Lahaina. This banyan tree is the largest in the United States and provided the perfect playground for our lithe climbers.

We spent one day hiking in the Haleakala volcano crater and it was amazing!

Here are the boys standing high above the clouds at 10,000 feet, the views were spectacular.

Here is where we began our hike. Sloan loved exploring each and every crack, cave and crevasse.

The views inside the crater were indescribable and the colors were extraordinary! I was struck by the infinite silence and the absolute stillness of this place.

The boys also had fun at the house, here they are working on an underwater diorama. I loved watching them play and work and create together, their precious heads side by side and their serious conversation, so fun to overhear and observe.

We spent many afternoons in Kihea at the local playground climbing trees and enjoying our favorite Local Boy shaved ice.

And this, THIS is my favorite! You know its been a good day when they fall into bed like this!
