The Sights in Philly

We spent the morning trying to see as many of the historical sights that we could and we began our tour at Independence Hall. Being in the very room where history was not only made, but essentially where American history began was profound and moving. Perhaps we have an even greater appreciation after living abroad for a bit.  Sure hope that we can pass our deep sense of awe and admiration along to our boys!

The very chair of the George Washington, really neat to see!

Another historical monument whose significance cannot be rivaled is none other than the Rocky Balboa statue.  My husband was moved to tears. Really. All joking aside. Tears at the Rocky statue. I have no words.

The boys enjoyed a moment of silence at the statue and then went on to climb the 72 stone steps in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art Rocky-style.  I'm happy for Greg who has fulfilled one of his lifelong dreams and even happier our boys were there to experience this with him.  Proud parenting moment . . . not so sure, but great fun for all the boys . . . yes indeed!
